Ecotourism is responsible travel that conserves
natural environments and sustains the well being of local
people.
“Wildland Adventures is recommended
by environmental groups for their innovative
and uncompromising approaches to conservation
of the environment and to preservation of the
world's diverse cultural heritage.”
~ National Geographic Traveler Magazine “Wildland Adventures has
been taking adventurous travelers around
the world since
1986, and is a leader in ecotravel.”
~ The Washington Times “All operators should
hold such high, get-involved standards [for
environmentally
and culturally responsible travel] as those
set by Seattle-based Wildland Adventures.”
~ Naples Daily News

Since our inception, ecotourism has been the cornerstone
of our foundation. Wildland Adventures offers cultural
and natural history explorations as a means to protect
natural environments, preserve cultural heritage and bring
direct economic benefits to local communities. Through
the careful design and operation of our trips and by attracting
travelers who are sympathetic to preserving natural environments
and traditional cultures, we are proud of the contributions
to conservation and good will our travelers have helped
us bring throughout the world. Our travel programs support
local conservation organizations and community development
projects co-sponsored by our non-profit Travelers Conservation
Trust. We are recognized in the travel industry and international
conservation community as a leader in ecotourism. We recognize
that increased accessibility by small groups of adventure
travelers into fragile wildlands and traditional societies
can produce detrimental impacts and threaten the very existence
intrepid travelers seek.
Wildland Adventures is a Supporting Institution of the
Ecotourism Society, a non-profit professional organization
dedicated to conserving natural environments and sustaining
the well-being of local people through responsible travel.
We are a member of the Center for Responsible Tourism,
a worldwide network of individuals and organizations working
for more socially and environmentally responsible tourism.
We also support the work of Cultural Survival which serves
to inform the general public and policy makers in support
of self-determination of tribal people and ethnic minorities.
We are collaborating with Conservation International and
The Nature Conservancy to support new, community-based
ecotourism projects and conservation areas throughout the
world, many of which are exciting new travel opportunities
for Wildland Adventures travelers.
Wildest Regards,
Kurt and Anne Kutay
